On Sunday afternoon we welcome the players, officials and supporters of LLANIDLOES TOWN.
Llani come to Chirk after suffering a heavy 6-0 away defeat at the hands of new boys Bangor1876 in their opening game. However Llani were missing several players that day through injury, suspension and holidays and will be a different animal this week.
Llani recored a double over Chirk last season with a 2-0 win at Victoria Park early in the season and then a 3-0 win at Holyhead Road in one of our last games of the season. In Jamie Breese ,they have one of Welsh Footballs most prolific strikers. The experienced Breese has played Cymru Premier football for various clubs including Newtown and Caernarfon and is always a threat in the box. One for us to watch out for. Antother player to watch out for is Jack Orbell who spent the first half of last season at Holyhead Road before joining the Daffs in the January transfer window. Welcome back to Chirk Jack!
Last Tuesdays game at Porthmadog was quite a hike in midweek but I felt we competed well and until the sending off of our goalkeeper Oli Farebrother, we were well in the game. We ran out of steam in the end and to be fair Port took full advantage of the extra man but in general our performance was good.
I would like to welcome Jake Mann to the club. He has just joined from Welshpool Town. Jake made his Colliers debut as a second half substitute on Tuesday evening at Porthmadog.
Many thanks must go our General Manager Mark Holmes and his helpers for the terrific job they've done on the ground in the summer. I think you'll all agree it looks great at the moment and all the hours Mark has put in is certainly paying dividends.
Our refreshment bar is open serving hot & cold drinks as well as the best burgers in Town! Also available are club history books at a knock down price of £5.00, new design club scarfs @ £10, champions mugs @ £7Pin badges @ £3.00 & key rings @ £2.00.
