Colliers through to FAW Trophy Round 3

FAW Trophy - Round 2
CORWEN 0 CHIRK AAA 1
Davies takes Chirk through

A late strike from former Corwen striker Dale Davies was enough to take The Colliers through to the next round.
It was never going to be a repeat of Wednesday nights 5-0 drubbing with the home side well up revenge. It was nip & tuck early on with both teams battling for supremacy in the midfield with Corwens Scott Evans being influential for the home side with Ryan Davies & Ashton Williams showing up well for Chirk.
However it was Chirk who created several good opportunities but they failed to find the net.
The second half was a similar pattern and it wasn't until the 85th that Chirk scored the all important winning goal.
Substitute Jack Edwards made a great run down Chirks right and delivered a great cross for Davies to tap in from close range.
It wasn't all over though and Corwen really should have taken it to penalties in the last minute when defender Harry Pooler headed over from a great position from a corner.
Chirk held on and go into Mondays draw for Round 3.
Man of the match was Lewis Clamp
