Chirk had a dream start to the inaugural game in the newly formed Ardal North East League

Both sides started cautiously weighing each other up and with both defences standing firm, it was no surprise that it was 20 minutes before the first chance of the game when Lewis Clamp fired just wide from the left.
On the half hour Chirk took the lead when Louie Middlehurst squared for Matty Thomas to fire home from 10 yards.
Dolgellau's Johnson tested Chirk keeper Callum Thurnham from 20 yards but the Chirk goal was kept intact with a comfortable save.

The second half started with both teams determined not to give away possession and a lively, physical battle prevailed until the 67th minute when Chirk midfielder Jake Simms chipped the keeper from the edge of the box to put The Colliers two goals ahead. Whether it was a shot or cross, who knows😉
The last 20 minutes Chirk introduced 3 subs and they had quite an impact. First the lively Alistair Gibson was brought down in the 81st minute and from the resulting penalty, Thomas scored his second goal.
Then another substitute Tom Faithfull scored a last minute goal to wrap up the points for
Chirk.

A great start in the new league for Chirk and they go to Corwen on Wednesday night full of confidence.
