Thomas Hat Trick fires Chirk to victory
A
Matty Thomas hat trick fired The Colliers to a 2nd successive win in the matter of 3 days with a comprehensive 5-0 win at Corwen.
Corwen, who had won 5-1 at Machynlleth on Saturday, started strongly and put the Chirk rearguard under pressure from the off. But Chirk stood firm and gradually got a foothold in the game with
Nath Lavender,
Jake Simms,
Jack Edwards &
Lewis Clamp commanding the midfield area.
Matty Thomas got his first on 29 minutes with
Jack Edwards scoring the second 5 minutes later after the keeper failed to hold a shot from Thomas.
HT:0-2
Lewis Clamp scored his first of the season straight after the restart when he fired fiercely past Mallon in the Corwen goal.
Thomas scored his second on the hour before completing his hat trick minutes from time with a powerful header.
Another powerful display from Chirk and they return to Corwen on Saturday to do battle in the 2nd Round of the FAW Trophy.
