Guilsfield struck in the 2nd minute of injury to deny Chirk their first win in Cymru North.
Guilsfield, who finished 3rd last season, came to Chirk on the back of a great 4-0 opening day win over Mold Alex. and would be a good test for the Colliers to assess our standing in the higher sphere of Welsh Football.
Chirk started well and in the 9th minute took a deserved lead when their impressive defender Ryan Williams fired in a cross which eluded Guils centre back Andy Ford and fell to Chirk striker
Jack Orbell who fired in his second goal in 3 games to put The Colliers ahead.
In front of a crowd of 180, Guilsfield battled back hard and put Chirk under pressure but Chirk stood firm with some outstanding performances. Guils missed a couple of good chances to level before the break but Chirks confidence grew and they looked comfortable in containing the Guils surges.
The second period saw a more balanced game with both sides creating chances and an entertaining game prevailed.
Chirk held firm with keeper
Joshua Jones having a great game but in the 92nd minute Jones was beaten when Steve Blenkinsop got on the end of a long through ball to chip past Jones and send the travelling Guils ultras back home with a point.
It was probably a fair result on the balance of play but Chirk will be disappointed to concede so late but will be encouraged by their general performance where they have shown they can live in the higher sphere of the Cymru North.
