Chirk swept into Round 2 with a comfortable win at North Wales Coast East side Mochdre Sports.
On a beautiful, sunny day in Colwyn Bay at the impressive Mochdre Sports Arena, Chirk swept into a 15th minute lead when Jack Orbell set up Louie Middlehurst who finished well. Chirk were moving the ball well and the pace down the flanks was causing Mochdre plenty of problems. However Chirk were reminded that the home side were no pushovers and they hit the post on one of their attacks. Although dominating, Chirk did occasionally look nervous at the back and presented Mochdre with a couple of chances before Dale Davies settled the nerves with a goal just before half time.
Davies scored again just after the restart and although Chirk continued to dominate possession they failed to create many chances in the second period with the home side occasionally threatening on the break but unable to score past Joshua Jones in the Chirk goal.
Chirk will be pleased with the win and go into the hat for Tuesdays draw for Round 2.
