A great away win for The Colliers against a good Gresford team.
The blustery conditions made it a game of 2 halfs with Chirk on the front foot in the opening period to lead 2-0 at the break courtesy of goals from
Toby Nash, after great work from
Jake Jones, and
Tom Faithfull.
Gresford came storming back in the second half and Chirk defended in masses to keep them out. And although the home side pulled a goal back through a Will Roberts penalty, Chirk hung on to clinch victory.
Gresford had 2 players sent off in injury time when Chirk broke and both Harvey Ellis and goalkeeper Josh Leach were shown red during an incident where young Chirk striker
Asa Riley was brought down.
Chirk now have a short break before we travel to Mold Alex in the 2nd round of the Horace Wynne Cup on Wed 16th Feb.
