LLAY WELFARE 1  CHIRK AAA 3

Chirk returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win at The Ring, Llay.

They had to come from behind though after Llay had taken the after just 7 minutes when Edgar Costa was harshly adjudged to have handled and Oscar Tami fired the home side ahead from the spot.

Chirk equalised on the half hour mark when a defender blatantly handled in the area and Toby Nash confidently dispatched the spot kick.

Just before half time Caleb Davies put The Colliers ahead when he scored from close range from a corner.

Chirk dominated the second period but on 70 minutes Brad Pearce gave away a penalty, was subsequently booked and then received another yellow card for his protests and was sent off.

Fortunately for Chirk the penalty was saved by Thomas McAndrew and Chirk kept their lead.

Chirk regrouped and a further goal from Matty Williams on 75 minutes consolidated the lead and Chirk went home with all 3 points.

The win took Chirk to 3rd place in the league.
